Food ads

For some reason food ad slogans stay in the memory for decades. Maybe it was because of the music that went with them, or the rhythm or rhyme. Some slogans were begun in the years before my cohort was born even which shows some pretty good advertising.

1911 – 57 Varieties – Heinz ketchup

1912 – When it rains, it pours – Morton Salt

1917 – Good to the last drop – Maxwell House

1929 – The pause that refreshes – Coca Cola

1930 – mm mm good – Campbell’s soup

1933 – Breakfast of Champions- Wheaties

1935 – In the valley of the Jolly Green Giant- General Mills canned vegetables

1940- Snap  Crackle Pop- Rice Krispies

1952 – Finger lickin good- Kentucky Fried Chicken

1957 – Nothing says lovin like something from the oven – Pillsbury

1958 – The San Francisco treat – Rice a Roni

1959 – Double your pleasure, double your fun- Doublemint gum

1960 – Bet you can’t eat just one – Lay’s Potato Chips

1963 – The Pepsi generation

1963 – Things go better with Coke- Coca Cola

1968 – You deserve a break today- McDonald’s

1969 -It’s the real thing _ Coca Cola
